November Recap
From our Customer giveaway, Movember, Melbourne Cup, Halloween, right through to the mountains of prep for the upcoming festive season, October and November has been non-stop!
At the end of last month, the team got their spook on as we celebrated Halloween. The Melbourne branch went all out in the costume department with angels, creepy skeletons, and Zak Galifianakis from the Hangover all making an appearance in the warehouse for the day.
We wouldn’t know of course, as most of the team over in Caboolture went missing! If you haven’t seen “Terror at Taipan” click here – its well worth the watch. For anyone concerned, all of the staff did end up back in the warehouse eventually…. Where did they go you ask?! You may just have to ask AJ about that one 😛
On a serious note though, we are super lucky to have some awesome acting talent in the team; well done guys you did amazing!
Everybody knows when Melbourne Cup Day rolls around at Taipan; we throw an extra special, extravagant morning tea fit for Royalty and our staff come dressed to the nines for our annual Melbourne Cup hat competition. This year was definitely a standout: from rubber unicorn heads to flower towers, to a DIY plastic horse masterpiece, the team really brought their A-game.
A big congratulations to Madison from Rocklea, who spent hours gluing and crafting her way to first place. We can’t wait to see what everybody comes up with next year!
There has been a shocking number of moustaches emerging across the Taipan branches recently. From handlebars to Albert Einstein, mo fever has really taken over, and for good reason! Throughout the month of November, our team has been raising money for men’s health through the Movember foundation, a global community of people making a difference in mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. The team at Taipan are a philanthropic bunch, always ready to get involved in causes that help others.

Our head honcho, Allan, celebrated his 60th birthday in November! He and Lou decided it was time for a holiday to celebrate, so they headed off on a road trip around beautiful Western Australia. Along the way Allan did stop in to visit some customers, he just couldn’t help himself, but they also got some quality adventure time in too. When they arrived on the Ningaloo coast, they hopped on board a scenic flight to take in the view. Whilst it wasn’t whale shark season, they were still able to take in the awesome views of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed reef.
